Who we are
Accountants for Estate Agents is a trading style of Buzz Accounting Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number 15182358, VAT registration number GB481 882 554. You can reach us at hello@accountantsforestateagents.co.uk.
What we collect, and why
If you send the contact form we receive your name, email address, the agency you run and whatever you write. If you become a client we hold what we need to do the work and to meet our own obligations — accounting records, identity documents for anti-money-laundering checks, and payroll data where we run your payroll.
Where we act on client account work we will see records that identify your own clients: vendors, purchasers, landlords and tenants. We hold that data as a processor on your instructions, use it only for the engagement, and it is covered by the confidentiality terms in our letter of engagement. Please send it through the secure route we set up rather than by ordinary email.
Our lawful bases
- Contract — doing the work you engaged us to do.
- Legal obligation — anti-money-laundering checks and statutory records.
- Legitimate interests — replying to an enquiry you sent us.
Who else sees it
Our software providers, as processors. HMRC and Companies House where we file for you. The registered audit firm where you have asked us to arrange the client account report, and then only what the audit requires. Nobody else, and we do not sell data.
Cookies
This site sets no advertising cookies and no tracking pixels.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not become engagements: up to 24 months. Client records: six years after the engagement ends, plus the anti-money-laundering records we must retain. Note that your own retention duty for client account records is six years after the end of the accounting period, under regulation 6 of the Estate Agents (Accounts) Regulations 1981.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct or delete it, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. If you are not satisfied you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
